I have lived in Madison County - in the cities of Canton, Madison, and Ridgeland - my entire life. Madison and Ridgeland both offer safe, healthy environments for young and old. I loved raising my children within the community, my son, his wife, and their three children live in Madison. Spending time with the grandchildren is always high on my list, and I attend as many of their sporting and extra-curricular events as possible. My daughter lives in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, where she teaches at the University. And I can't forget our office's official greeter, Ziggy my Jack Russell Terrier.Some of my favorite activities to do in area include walking, sailing, and watching my grandchildren play baseball and soccer. Although recently I "retired" from competitive sailing to enjoy a more relaxed pleasure sailing. I raced in both inland and coastal events for over seven years and have lots of fun memories and quite a few trophies. There are trails for biking and walking, organized sports activities for all ages as well as swimming and sailing opportunities in our beautifully maintained reservoir. There are numerous weekly open-air markets offering the freshest locally grown foods, musical entertainment, and activities for children. Many great arts events take place on a regular basis, including ballet, theater, musical productions, and art and antique shows. There is never a dull moment!There is so much to appreciate about our community, and one thing I love to do is also give back to the community. I'm involved with my church, Chapel of the Cross, promoting adult and youth sailing at Jackson Yacht Club, and a sponsorship for Habitat for Humanity. Every year, I participate in the Hands in the Community Grant for Habitat for Humanity. I also support the Madison County schools and Madison-Ridgeland Academy with donations to various activities.Being involved with the community, and the people of the community is what I like most about being an Allstate agent. Everyone's needs are different, and you have to get to know each customer personally to assist with their protection needs for their family. There's never a dull moment! We pride ourselves on being an available, friendly, and caring agency.Just remember traffic can get rather hectic with so many schools and daycares concentrated in such a small area. Add in the large numbers of bikers and young drivers, and you must always be very aware of your surroundings.
